Accessibility

This page states how accessible this site is, where it falls short, and how to tell us when we got it wrong.

What we aim for

Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1, level AA. In the United States that is the standard courts apply when they read the Americans with Disabilities Act against a website, and it is the standard most of the rest of the world has settled on too.

What is built in

• Every piece of text meets the required contrast in both the light and the dark appearance
• The whole page works with a keyboard, and the focus is always visible
• Nothing is carried by colour alone — this site has no colour to carry anything with
• All motion stops when your system asks for reduced motion, and nothing is hidden behind it
• The page is complete without JavaScript
• Zoom is not blocked, and the layout holds at 320 pixels wide
• Every image has a text alternative, every form field a visible label
• The image gallery scrolls; it never hides a slide from a screen reader

Where it falls short

The hero video has no captions, because it carries no speech and no information that is not also written on the page. If that changes, captions come with it.

Renderings of parts are described in words, but a drawing can never be fully replaced by a sentence. If you need a part described in more detail, ask us and we will write it out.
